The problem with most conservatories

Too hot in summer. Too cold in winter. Barely used in between.

If your conservatory has a polycarbonate roof, you already know how it goes. The temperature swings, the rain hammers, the room sits empty for nine months of the year and gets used as overflow storage for the other three.

A Supalite tiled roof is what turns it from a regret into a real room.

It’s the same room you’ve already paid for — but properly insulated, properly finished inside, and built to current Building Regulations. Most installs go onto your existing base and frame in five to ten days, with no need to rebuild the conservatory itself.

What is a Supalite roof?

A proper insulated tiled roof, designed to drop onto your existing conservatory.

Building Regulations compliant

The Supalite system is approved by both LABC and LABSS — meaning the system itself has been pre-reviewed against Building Regulations. We install it the way it’s been approved, so every roof is Building Regulations compliant as standard.

Vaulted plastered ceiling

Smooth painted internal finish. Add a pelmet, downlighters or Velux roof windows. The room reads like an extension, not a conservatory.

Lightweight, no rebuild

Engineered to fit onto your existing base and conservatory frame in most cases. No structural rebuild, no planning headaches, no full extension job.

0.15 W/m²K U-value

Thermal performance comparable to a new-build extension. Stops the summer overheat, holds the winter warmth, kills the rain noise.

“We had a polycarbonate roof on our conservatory for fifteen years and barely used the room past September. Within a fortnight of the Supalite roof going on we were back in there reading the paper at breakfast. It properly changes how you use the room.”

What our customers say

Real reviews from across Greater Manchester.

“What sold us was the survey. No high-pressure sales nonsense, no ‘sign today’ discount — just an honest quote on actual work to be done. The team turned up when they said they would and finished a day early.”

“Our neighbours have asked who did our extension — twice now. From the kerb it doesn’t read as a conservatory anymore, just a proper part of the house. The Tapco tiles tie in with the brick beautifully.”

“Conservatory had been a sun-trap for years — couldn’t use it from May to September. After the Supalite went on the temperature in there is just like the rest of the house. Tidy work, on time, no surprises on the bill.”

Frequently asked

The questions we hear on every survey.

How long does installation take?
Most installs take five to ten working days from start to finish, depending on the size of the conservatory. Your roof is normally weather-tight within two to three days — the rest of the time is internal plastering, finishes, decorating and cleanup.
Will my existing conservatory base and frame support a tiled roof?
In most cases, yes — the Supalite system is engineered to be lightweight specifically so it can replace polycarbonate or glass without rebuilding the base or frame. Our surveyor confirms this on site before quoting; if it can’t take the load, we tell you straight away.
Do I need planning permission?
Replacement conservatory roofs almost always fall under permitted development and don’t need planning permission. Building Regulations compliance is the important bit — the Supalite system is LABC and LABSS approved, so the roof is built to current Building Regulations as standard. If you need a formal Building Regulations completion certificate (e.g. for a future sale), we can arrange one through Local Authority Building Control as a separate process.
What thermal performance can I expect?
The Supalite roof achieves a U-value of around 0.15 W/m²K — better than current Building Regs requirements for new-build extension roofs. In practice that means the room holds heat in winter, stays cool in summer, and you stop hearing every drop of rain.
What’s covered by the 10-year guarantee?
The Supalite system carries a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee covering both the system itself and the workmanship of the installation. The IBG sits with a third party, so it’s honoured even in the unlikely event we’re not around to honour it ourselves.
